Never Renew on Autopilot Again

Most policies renew at whatever the insurer decides, because the reminder arrives a week before and nobody has time to shop. Tell us the date and we will do the shopping, about 30 days ahead, and show you what the rest of the market would charge for the same cover.

The expiry date on your policy schedule. Month is enough if you are not sure of the day.
So an advisor can reach you. We do not call before the reminder.
Optional, but it lets us line up the right market before we call.

Without this the reminder can only reach you by phone.

Why this is worth doing

A renewal quote from your existing insurer is not a market price. It is a price set by an insurer that knows changing is inconvenient. The only way to find out whether it is fair is to put the same risk in front of other insurers, and that takes about three weeks to do properly.

It is not only about premium. Renewal is the one moment each year when sums insured can be corrected, and an out-of-date sum insured is what triggers the average clause and cuts a claim. We would rather fix that than shave the premium.

What we will actually do

About 30 days before the date, you get one email. An advisor puts the risk to the insurers that write it well, and comes back with terms, wordings and an honest view of which is worth taking, including staying put. You decide.

If the answer is that your current insurer is already the best of them, we will tell you that, and you will have lost nothing but the ten seconds this form takes.

Frequently asked questions

What happens after I submit this?

Nothing until it matters. About 30 days before the date you give us, we email you a reminder and an advisor starts gathering quotes. You are not signing up to anything and there is no charge.

Why 30 days and not sooner?

Because insurers will not hold terms much longer than that, and quotes gathered three months out are stale by the time you need them. Thirty days is enough to compare the market properly and still act without rushing.

Do I have to switch insurers?

No. Often the right answer is to stay where you are on better terms, and knowing what the market would charge is what gets you those terms. A broker is paid by whichever insurer writes the risk, so this costs you nothing either way.

What if I do not know the exact date?

Give us the month and we will work to the first of it. It is better to be a fortnight early than a day late; a lapsed policy is not a renewal, it is a fresh one with fresh underwriting.

Will you sell my details?

No. It goes into our own diary and nowhere else. If you want out, reply to any reminder and we delete it.
