Shopkeeper Insurance Policy Quote

A shopkeeper's package puts everything a retail shop needs into one document: stock, fittings, cash, plate glass, signage and liability to customers. For most shops it costs less than owners expect, which is why so many carry nothing.

Before you ask

What drives the premium

Indian general insurance was de-tariffed in 2007, so there is no tariff to quote from and any site publishing a rate is guessing. What we can do is read your risk against the market and come back with real terms.

What we need from you

Send whatever you have on WhatsApp, even a photograph of the existing policy schedule. We will tell you what is missing rather than send you a form.

Frequently asked questions

What does a shopkeeper insurance policy cover?

Typically fire and allied perils on stock and fittings, burglary, money in transit and in the till, plate glass, neon and glow signs, and public liability for customers injured on the premises. Sections can be added or dropped so you pay only for what the shop actually needs.

How much does shop insurance cost in India?

It depends on what you sell, the stock value, the location and the sections you take, so no honest figure can be published. For most small retail shops it is one of the cheapest commercial covers available. Send us the details and we will come back with real terms, usually the same day.

How should I insure stock that changes through the year?

Use a declaration policy. You set the sum insured at your festive peak, declare stock monthly, and the premium is adjusted at year end against the average. You get peak-day protection while paying for your average holding.

Is a shopkeeper policy enough, or do I need separate cover?

For a single retail shop it is usually sufficient and simpler. Once you hold stock in a separate godown, run multiple outlets or move goods regularly, the exposures outgrow the package and are better placed separately.
