Why the wording matters more than the brochure
A policy is the schedule, the wording and any endorsements, read together. The brochure and the insurer's web page summarise it and say so in their own footers. When a claim is disputed, the surveyor, the insurer and the Ombudsman all read the wording, so it is the document to read before renewal, not after a loss.

Reading a UIN
Every product IRDAI approves carries a Unique Identification Number. For a general insurance product it begins IRDAN, and the three digits that follow are the insurer's IRDAI registration number, which is how this library keeps an insurer's products together through a change of name. The V01, V02 that follow mark the version of the wording. An add-on carries its parent product's UIN with its own /A suffix, or a UIN of its own where it was filed alone.
The UIN is printed on your policy schedule. Match it here and you have the wording your policy was issued on. If your schedule shows a version this library does not list, the insurer has filed a newer one since.
